ArtExplosion 2007 Opening Night Reception

Saturday, March 3, 6:00-9:00pm Presented by ArtsUnited ArtServe JM Enterprises Gallery 1350 East Sunrise Blvd. Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33304 $5 Admission ArtsUnited will again produce its annual signature event ArtExplosion, which combines all forms of art in a two week calendar of spectacular events. The ArtExplosion2007 Visual Art Exhibit will be on display from February 26 through March 16, 2007 at ArtServe, 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Fort Lauderdale. The opening reception will be on Saturday March 3rd from 6 to 9pm and will also include music, dance, theatre, book signings and vocal performances. Admission to the reception is by $5.00 donation to ArtsUnited to help offset some of the costs associated with the event. Over 500 people attended last year’s reception, and thousands viewed the exhibit during the month. There is no admission to the exhibit other than during the Opening Reception. We are thrilled to have as our guest jurist and curator Mr. Jorge Santis, Curator of Collections at the Museum of Art Fort Lauderdale. There is no theme for ArtExplosion2007; all works will be judged by Mr. Santis and prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, People’s Choice and Best in Class. You need not be a member of ArtsUnited to participate; however, this is a showcase of artists from the Gay and Lesbian Community. Visual artists who wish to participate must complete and submit this application by fax to 954-567-1439, by mail to ArtsUnited, 1350 East Sunrise Blvd, Suite 145, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33304, or in person at drop off on or before February 22, 2007 to be considered.
