She created sculptural two and three dimensional pieces, using materials she dyed herself. She received numerous awards for her fiber art throughout the eight years she worked in the medium. Like so many others, Dawson left one arena and entered another. Incorporating her years of experience as fiber artist, she aspire to translate that insight into paintings using texture, color and layering techniques. Each of these became strong elements in her painting. For the past ten years, Dawson has worked in acrylic and is excited with the opportunities it lends. Dawson’s work is in many private collections, garners the occasional award and has exhibited in numerous shows throughout South Florida where she maintains a winter studio. In Florida, she is currently represented by Art Expressions Gallery in Fort Lauderdale. Show runs March 10-March 31
